No-Thanks-Hanks, by Danny Katz and Mitch Vane
This is such a fun book! This book covers some manners that apply to children when making friends, like thank you, hanging onto the present at parties, being shy, thinking of others, talking too much (and therefore missing out on a party invitation), and sportsmanship. Lots of cartoons and rhyme. Highly recommended.
When I'm Feeling Kind, by Trace Moroney
Trace Moroney's "When I'm Feeling" books have become very popular. We stock many of these books on feelings. The illustrations are very cute. The book describe what it feels like when you are kind, what actions are kind, and to also be kind to yourself.
We stock the hard cover book which has glossy cardboard pages. There are notes in the back for parents about feeling kind and self-esteem.
When I'm Feeling Jealous, by Trace Moroney
This book begins with describing what jealousy would look like if it were a monster. It gives examples of situations where a child would feel jealous. The rabbit ends up not feeling good. The great thing about this book is that it shows children what they CAN think about, and what they can do. It then makes them feel better. The revelation for some children will be that some children may be jealous of them!
There are notes in the back for parents about jealousy and self-esteem. This is another hard cover book with glossy cardboard pages.
The Share-A-Not, by Adam Wallace
This a fantastic book to teach kids about sharing. Adam Wallace is such a funny guy. Watch his video here.
In the Share-A-Not, kids learn quickly not to play with him as he wants everything for himself. He is in fact, greedy. He also steals, and is jealous. He eventually realises he is lonely, but the Share-A-Not ends up becoming the Share-A-Lot! Colourful monster pictures and rhyming text for the kids to enjoy. Perfect for ages 4 to 7.
